Please consider adopting a senior cat or dog. MAFIA does not discard pets because they do not get placed in permanent homes. Because of that, we have some cats and dogs who have been in our care for over 10 years, and some have come to us in their senior years. Our low adoption rates are requested to help cover the expense of spay/neuter, micro chip and first vaccinations, and the rates do not increase due to veterinary, preventative medical or food supplies that accumulate over the years. True rescue organizations never gain a profit in their cause; that is why MAFIA is a 501©(3) not-for-profit charity.
Our “seniors” are just as loving and playful as the younger pets, but they know that their foster homes are not real homes. Please consider making a senior’s last years more content – you will be able to see the gratitude in their faces.
